31.5x31.5 in ~ Painting, Acrylic

A barely hatched dark pink peony occupies the upper part of the canvas. The foliage in different shades of blues and greens unfolds in a very dynamic way throughout the canvas. The foliage, made in a glaze, offers a beautiful transparency that evokes the seabed. The pale pink background of the canvas, enhanced with a white glaze, reinforces the contrast with the peony whose outlines are surrounded by a thin black line. This background also evokes the aquatic environment through the material effects used. This work can be associated with Pivoine I and Pivoine II to form a triptych.
